![]() I have not experimented with this yet, but is seems recommended to make a special Animal House with the wall hanging of "Name Plate" and assign it as the animal's room. Cats and Dogs seem to eat Fish and Meat and gain happiness and breed similar to other Livestock. You only need Bowls for Dogs and Cats (and tagging Animal Homes), Livestock animals ignore them. Update: The third drops resources similar to chickens. Use the Bottomless Pot to get resources from the second kind of Livestock animal. Update: You can also shuffle the animal to another area and then back again after a moment, this resets the animal's position. It should be easy to tell which ones those are, they won't be very happy because they don't have Wheatgrass access. If you have Livestock that ran off the edge of a cliff and dropped eggs everywhere, you can either make a safe path for it to climb to reach home, or you can dismiss the animal with a furniture item you get after completing the second story island. One more note on Wheatgrass, the grown version is not harvestable as a block but you can move it with your Gloves if you want to decorate with it a bit. Have not tested if this is per area or not. Update: if you have less than 5, they will breed until you have 5. They seem to breed more Livestock as long as there's an unclaimed pet bed nearby and you have 2 at 100 affection, which they gain easily by eating Wheatgrass. I have seen this, my chickens used to eat my nearby cabbages and wheat before I had access to Wheatgrass. They will eat grown crops instead of Wheatgrass according to some in game information. The Wheatgrass will disappear and need to be replanted like any other crop that's harvested a lot, so hammer Wheatgrass like mad when you see it! Update: You do not need a scarecrow or tilled earth in a Pen or Paddock field. Update: They seem to eat at least twice a day, similar to other NPC AI schedules. Livestock animals automatically eat planted and grown Wheatgrass in an Animal Pen or Animal Paddock (fenced in field with planted Wheatgrass, add a Haystack for the Paddock version). Assign the animal to the general area you placed the house and pen/paddock in and they won't move around so much. It seems they will come to any building you make that is a "Animal House" - which has a Haystack, Pet Bed(s), Pet Bowl(s) in it. These two rooms, the Barn and the Paddock, only need to share a joining wall and have a door between them, so building your Paddock in front of your Barn's original door is the perfect solution to build a Farm in Dragon Quest Builders 2. Just plant 5 Wheatgrass seeds wherever you want inside the Paddock (in good Earth) and you'll complete the room when the grass sprouts from the mound. You can find Wheatgrass on the second Explorer's Shores material island, Blossom Bay. To build a Paddock in Dragon Quest Builders 2 you need only three things: 1 Haystack, 1 Wooden Gate (letting you into the Paddock from outside the fence), and 5 Wheatgrass. This Barn needs to then be attached to a Paddock, which is one of the outdoor rooms that only requires a 1-block-high fence around it and a gate. To build a Barn in Dragon Quest Builders 2 you need 1 Chest, 1 Pot, 1 Haystack, 1 Rope, 1 Farming Tools and 1 Firewood. ![]() The room on the left is a Barn, you may remember building one in Furrowfield to satisfy Clayton's urge to put vegetables into a chest.
